Wandering along La Frontera...

Bio

Federico Villalba is enjoying his photography obsession way too much. He began his photography journey with  35mm film cameras; doing the typical family and road trip shots.

He has gotten serious about capturing still images in his second life, dipping into the street, formal event, travel, cultural, fashion, commercial, and photo journalism waters. He enjoys visually documenting the things – dimples and blemishes – that make life along “la frontera” of the United States and Mexico so unique.

Federico has exhibited his photography and print art at the El Paso Museum of Art, Museo de Arte Ciudad Juárez, the Branigan Cultural Center, SPAG, Taller 75 Grados, El Centro Cultural Antiguo Colegio Jesuita, El Rincon de Sabina, MARTKET, the Purple Pop-Up, El Paso History Museum, La Fe Cultural Center, and Chalk The Block. His portraits of El Pasoans have been pasted-up at various street art venues as a participant photographer of the world-wide Inside Out Project (El Paso/Cd. Juarez region). His photographs have been published in Fusion Magazine, The Art Avenue, the UTEP Prospector, El Diario de El Paso, Newspaper Tree, and YAYBIG Southwest Print Collection 2014 catalog. His photography has been featured literary books "The Dead Will Rise and Save Us" and "Memorias del Silencio (10th anniversary).

El Paso, Texas is where Federico was born and rides his bicycle.
